Quickstart
Requires stable Rust. The engine workspace is stdlib-only — no crate dependencies beyond the standard library.
Build and smoke-test
bash
cargo test --workspace
cargo run -p eelden-cli -- lex "users |> filter active == true"Run demo queries against a local DB
bash
cargo run -p eelden-cli -- run ./mydb examples/demo_schema.eel examples/demo_queries.eelThis opens (or creates) ./mydb, applies the schema, executes the pipelines in demo_queries.eel, and prints rows.
Try the playground (no server)
In-tab wasm engine — durable OPFS when the browser allows it:
bash
cd clients/studio && npm install && npm run build:wasm && npm run dev:playground
# open http://127.0.0.1:5173/?local=1Or use the hosted playground at play.eelden.dev.
Open Studio (serve-backed)
bash
# HMR while hacking the UI
cd clients/studio && npm run dev
# Or built dist served by the CLI
cd clients/studio && npm run build:wasm && npm run build && cd ../..
cargo run -p eelden-cli -- studio ./mydb-studio examples/demo_schema.eel --ui clients/studio/distStudio opens with a bearer token in the URL. Use the Examples rail for runnable demos; toggle Write mode before mutations.
Named queries + TypeScript codegen
bash
cd clients/typescript && npm install && npm run build
node bin/eelden-codegen.mjs --config ../../examples/eelden.config.jsonSee Named queries and the TypeScript client.
Docs site
bash
cd docs && npm install && npm run dev
